Guinness World Record has officially approved Abel Yakubu as Record Holder of 60 hours longest computer programming lesson.
In a letter to Yakubu made available to Migrationwatch magazine, the global authority on all things record – breaking as well as official adjudicators who verify records all over the world wrote,
“We are thrilled to inform you that your application for longest computer programming lesson has been successful and you are now the Guinness World Record Title Holder!”
“You will also be able to claim your free Digital Record Breaker Badge to proudly share your achievement online instantly”, the letter added
Speaking exclusively with Migrationwatch magazine, the diasporic Nigerian said his motivation was to show that Nigerians can set bold goals and actually follow through on them.
“I wanted to challenge myself, push my limits, and, in the process, inspire others – especially young people, to believe that consistency and hard work are absolutely essential”.
The visibly excited tech professional however acknowledged that the ambition was not easy.
“It was very tasking. It required a great deal of discipline, mental strength, endurance, and sacrifice from me, my team, the students, and the witnesses. There were tough moments, but we stayed focused and committed to achieving our goal”, Yakubu confessed.
With this feat, the next goal for Abel is to expand his outreach in tech education.
“I’m focused on working with secondary and tertiary institutions to introduce young students and beginners to leading technologies such as cloud computing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence”.
To young Nigerian youths, the Germany based Nigerian advised “don’t wait for perfect conditions. Start small, stay consistent, and keep learning. You don’t need to have everything figured out, just be willing to put in the work and grow over time”.
