In what appears to be a rising security threat in Nigeria, armed bandits invaded St. Mary’s Catholic School, Papiri in the early hours of Monday, November, 21 and abducted several pupils, students, teachers and security personnel.
This was contained in a statement issued by Fr Jato Luka, the secretary to catholic diocese of Kotonkarfe and made available to Migrationwatch magazine
According to the statement, the Catholic diocese strongly condemns the attack and also expresses deep concern for the safety of the victims.
Fr Jato added that the diocese immediately informed security agencies of the dastardly act and they have begun coordinated efforts towards safe return of the children and others.
While assuring the public of the cooperation of the Catholic bishop with security agencies, Rev fr Luka urged the public to remain calm and in prayers, promising to provide updates as verified information become available
