SURE 4U, a non-governmental organization, has successfully empowered 220 vulnerable widows in Hadejia Emirate, Jigawa State, Nigeria.

According to a statement signed by Mannir Yari, Director of program, Sure4U, the widowhood empowerment program took place in Hadejia on Saturday, 11th of October where the widows receive support items and cash donations, including bags of rice, cooking oil, sugar, wrappers, and N20,000 each.

The statement also expressed profound appreciation of the Board of Trustees of Sure4U to prominent dignitaries, including Senator (Amb.) AM Malam Madori, Hon. Abubakar Makki Yellema, DG NITDA Kashifu Inuwa, and ACGC Babandede (Magajin Rafin Hadejia) who graced the event.

Senator Madori, who was the Special Guest of Honour further donated N10,000 to each of the beneficiaries, bringing the total cash support to N30,000 per widow.

The organization also expressed gratitude to the Emir of Hadejia, HRH Alh. (Dr) Adamu Abubakar Maje, CON, for accepting to serve as the Grand Patron of SURE 4U stating that the Emir’s endorsement is a testament to the organization’s commitment to uplifting the lives of widows and their families in the community.

The 220 widows have a total of 1,689 children, with 705 in school and 984 out of school. SURE 4U has pledged to ensure that those in schools are retained and those who are out of school are enrolled into various institutions.

The organization thanked the Jigawa State Government, under the leadership of Governor Umar Namadi, for their support and encouragement.

By empowering the widows, SURE 4U aims to alleviate their immediate challenges and provide them with the necessary tools to build a brighter future for themselves and their children.
